2 Smithtown HS West Seniors Recognized By LI Special Educators

SMITHTOWN, NY — A pair of students from Smithtown High School West were recognized by the Long Island Association of Special Education Administrators for their dedication to their academic success, according to a news release from the district.

Smithtown High School West senior Daniel Van Nostrand was selected by the scholarship committee of LIASEA to receive the Student of the Year Award. He was honored during a virtual ceremony June 4.

Smithtown High School West senior Alyssa DiLoreto was selected by the executive board of LIASEA’s award committee to receive the Jodi Shapiro Memorial Award. She was also recognized for her achievements at a virtual ceremony on June 4.
