SMITHTOWN, NY — Clean water education and plastic-free lunches were a part of the Smithtown Central School District’s Earth Day celebration, the district announced.

Fourth graders at Smithtown Elementary School received some valuable information from Suffolk County Water Authority presenter Kathryn Fedun. Fedun is part of the SCWA outreach program for students which covers the water cycle and protection of our drinking water.

The presentation, which discusses pollution and the environmental impacts of clean and dirty water, is part of the science curriculum students are currently learning.
