2-Year-Old Boy Critically Injured In Nesconset Crash
His father was driving him and his 4-year-old brother when a pickup truck rear-ended his dad's car, police say.
NESCONSET, NY — A 2-year-old boy was critically injured following a car crash in Nesconset on Monday, Suffolk police said.
His father, a 50-year-old St. James resident, was driving a 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage eastbound on Middle Country Road, near Cambon Place, with his 2-year-old and 4-year old sons in the vehicle when an eastbound 2018 Dodge Ram 1500 struck the rear of the Mitsubishi at approximately 4:45 p.m., police said.
The 2-year-old boy was brought to Stony Brook University Hospital in critical but stable condition. The father and 4-year-old were transported to the same hospital with minor injuries.

The Dodge driver, a 50-year-old Port Jefferson man, drove himself to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore with minor injuries. Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks.
Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.
