6 Smithtown Student-Artists Earn Scholastic Awards

The students, representing both high schools, have received awards in the annual Scholastic Arts and Writing Awards. Congratulations!

SMITHTOWN, NY — Six student-artists from Smithtown High School East and Smithtown High School West have received awards in the annual Scholastic Arts and Writing Awards, according to the school district.

From Dianne Shanian’s art class at Smithtown High School East, 11th grader Lilly Chai was awarded a Silver Key for her painting.

From Timothy Needles’ art class at Smithtown High School East, the following students were honored: Angelina Bhola (Gold Key – digital art, flower model); Alexandra Lanzon (Gold Key – mixed media, Agape; Gold Key – mixed media, Mon cœur t’appartient; Honorable Mention – mixed media, Thantophobia); Kiersten Hebron (Honorable Mention – Façade; Honorable Mention – “They Won’t Understand”; Honorable Mention poetry – “Star-Crossed Lovers”); and Nethmi
Withanage (Gold Key – drawing & illustration, “Beauty and the Beast”).
