AMF Smithtown Lanes Closes
The bowling alley made the closure announcement on Wednesday. Bowlers were pointed to a couple of nearby sister centers.

SMITHTOWN, NY — AMF Smithtown Lanes has closed, AMF Bowling Co. announced Wednesday on Facebook. The bowling alley was located at 200 Landing Ave., Smithtown.
"We appreciate all of your loyalty and support over the years," the business wrote.
The company pointed bowlers to a pair of nearby sister centers: AMF Centereach Lanes and Bowlero Sayville.

AMF Centereach lanes is approximately 20 minutes by car from the Smithtown location, while Bowlero Sayville is roughly 30 minutes away, according to Google Maps.
Bowling alleys were forced to temporarily close on Long Island in mid-March due to a New York state mandate in a bid to curb the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. They were not allowed to reopen until Aug. 17; at no more than 50 percent capacity. Every other lane was closed.
