Cool Tunes Meet Hot Summer at Smith Haven Mall

Free Summer Concert Series Returns for 10 weeks on July 9

Smith Haven Mall will bring back its annual summertime tradition and offer free, live musical performances during its Summer Concert Series. Now in its fourth year, the 10 week series will kick off on Thursday, July 9 at 6 p.m. and continues every Thursday through September 10.

“The Summer Concert Series has proven to be a popular event with our shoppers so we are thrilled to bring it back for the fourth year at Smith Haven Mall,” commented Ann M. Schultz, director of mall marketing and business development for Smith Haven Mall. “This season, we’ve secured a wide range of music that speaks to nearly every generation. We look forward to welcoming concert goers to spend their Thursday nights with us and enjoy dynamic live music and complimentary nibbles in a relaxing outdoor environment.”

The Summer Concert Series at Smith Haven Mall is free entertainment, open to the public and takes place in the mall’s Lifestyle Village. Seating will be limited to benches within the Lifestyle Village so guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs.

During the Independence Day weekend, July 3 through 5, shoppers who purchase a $75 Simon Giftcard will receive a free folding lawn chair (while supplies last).

Event attendees can take advantage of an array of special food sampling by the mall’s restaurants and eateries, which will vary each week. Participating restaurants and eateries include Bobby’s Burger Palace, Bonefish Grill, California Pizza Kitchen, P.F. Chang’s China Bistro, Bahama Breeze, Auntie Anne’s Pretzels and Teavana. In addition, select retailers will be on-hand with product demonstrations during events including L’Occitane, Cohen’s Fashion Optical, Bare Minerals and Sur La Table.

On Thursday, July 9, concert goers can start their weekend early and enjoy the sounds of Journey tribute band Any Way You Want It. Lead by Bill Giangrande, who shines as the voice of Steve Perry, this Long Island-based ensemble has been captivating audiences with the sound and energy of a live Journey concert for the past seven years.

The rest of the July line-up includes:

  • July 16 – Killer Joe and the Lido Soul Review: Covering the sounds of Motown, R&B, old-time rock and roll, blues and soul, “Killer Joe” Ferraro and the Lido Soul Review put the fun back into live music.
  • July 23 – Billboard Live: Mixing together some of the best players on Long Island with a love of great 70s rock music, Billboard Live is a band with a goal of taking fans on a nostalgia trip to the greatest moments of the decade. The group plays killer rock hits from Rod Stewart, Rolling Stones, Wings, The Beatles, The Guess Who, Elton John and more!
  • July 30 – Desert Highway: A tribute to the Eagles, this six-member band takes audiences on a non-stop journey of radio hits, top 10 singles and album favorites highlighting inspired vocal harmonies and intricate guitar styles made famous by the legendary group.
