Ex-WWE Wrestler Mick Foley Calls On Suffolk To Get Vaccinated
The former pro-wrestling champion was brought on by the county to film a video urging Suffolk residents to get vaccinated. Watch it below.

SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY — Former WWE wrestler and world champion Mick Foley recently filmed a PSA to encourage Suffolk County residents to get vaccinated against the coronavirus, Executive Steve Bellone announced.
The PSA, which will be running on televison and across various social media platforms, is the latest effort under the county’s #TakeYourShot Initiative.
"We are so close to the finish line and finally returning to normal," Bellone stated. "But we know the only way to fully reopen and ditch the masks is to get vaccinated. As a Long Islander, Pro-Wrestler Mick Foley understands that it takes teamwork to defeat this virus. So do your part by rolling up your sleeve and taking your shot."

Foley's PSA was tweeted out by Bellone on Thursday. In it, he introduced himself and said he knows "a thing or two about pain."
"When I'm not being thrown off the top of a cell or crashing through tables, I like to get up close and personal with family, friends and fans," Foley said. "But I can't do that until we've all taken the COVID-19 shot. It's free, easy and a whole lot safer than some of the matches I've been in. So if you're sick of wearing that mask, and social distancing, get the shot now so that soon we can all have a nice day."

As of Friday, more than 839,000 Suffolk residents have taken at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, according to the county.
The county, in an effort to remove obstacles and hesitancy to getting the vaccine, is providing free transportation to vaccination sites for seniors, veterans and anyone who is driving impaired. The county also committed more than $200,000 to launch the second phase of its "Take Your Shot" educational campaign.
