Happy Mother’s Day From Jacqueline Olsen

"I am not sure how, but somewhere along the way, my daughters have become my best friends."

In celebration of Mother's Day on Sunday May 13, we asked Patch readers to write a letter to their mother and let us deliver it. This is Jacqueline Olsen's letter to her daughters:

I know this is supposed to be about mothers, but I am going to change it up a little. I have four incredible children. Each and every one is an incredibly special person in their own way. I couldn’t be prouder to call them my children.

I also have three beautiful grandchildren. I am lucky enough to be involved in my grandchildren’s daily lives. I held these babies within a half-hour of each of their births. I watched my daughters become natural mothers. I see them play and laugh and teach and completely enjoy these babies.

These two baby girls of mine, who at times made me think, ‘Am I going to make it through these teenage years?’ have become women who hold down jobs, take care of their families and, on occasion, have to lend their mother a shoulder to cry on.

I am not sure how, but somewhere along the way, my daughters, Kristen and Lindsay, have become my best friends. Happy Mother’s Day girls! I love you to the moon and back.
