ICYMI: Capsized Duck Hunters Rescued By Smithtown Bay Constables

SMITHTOWN, NY — A Commack father and son were saved from the frigid waters of the Nissequogue River on Dec. 19 by Smithtown bay constables, according to a Town of Smithtown news release.

A 14-foot Lone Star duck-hunting boat belonging to Fred Maser, 72, and Kevin Maser, 46, capsized, dumping them in the river at 1:07 p.m. Saturday. The Smithtown Department of Public Safety park rangers, bay constables and Suffolk County police received the call.
