Kitchen Fire Breaks Out at Medford Friendly's

A fire broke out at a Friendly’s restaurant in Medford on Friday morning.

The Medford Fire Department received a call at 8:16 a.m. on Friday reporting a kitchen fire at the Friendly’s located at 700 E. Patchogue Yaphank Road. Upon their arrival, firefighters noticed heavy smoke on the roof as the fire spread through the ceiling.

There were no injuries, but the building sustained extensive damage. The Suffolk County Fire Marshal’s Office is currently investigating the cause of the fire, and why the sprinkler system didn’t work.
