Lake Grove Sears Closing
Just three Sears stores will remain on Long Island after the Lake Grove store closes. 77 people will lose their jobs.

The Sears store at the Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove will close the spring.
The store will close on May 6, according to a Feb. 6 notice the company filed with the state's Department of Labor under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notice Act.
Up to 77 workers will lose their jobs when the store closes. It's unclear if they will be offered positions at other Sears stores. There will only be three Sears left on the island: Massapequa, Valley Stream and Bridgehampton.
