Man Seriously Injured In St. James Collision: Police
A Ford truck struck a Nissan at an intersection on Monday night, police say. The pickup truck driver was seriously hurt.
ST. JAMES, NY — A truck driver from Centereach was seriously injured in a St. James crash on Monday night, Suffolk police said.
Timothy Hearney, 52, of St. James, was driving a 2021 Nissan Acura eastbound on Woodlawn Avenue, when his car was struck at the intersection of Lake Avenue by a northbound 2016 Ford pickup truck driven by Steven Schwamb, 31, of Centereach, around 9:40 p.m., police said.
Schwamb suffered serious injuries and is being treated at Stony Brook University Hospital, police said. Hearney was brought to the same hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Detectives asked that anyone with information on the crash call the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.
