Motorcyclist And Car Involved In 'Serious' Smithtown Crash

The motorcyclist was hospitalized following the collision, fire officials say.

SMITHTOWN, NY — A motorcyclist and car driver were involved in a serious collision in Smithtown on Tuesday afternoon, according to Smithtown Fire Department public information officer Rick Torre.

The motorcyclist was brought to Stony Brook University Hospital after the crash happened at Route 111 and Oak Tree Drive around 5 p.m., Torre said. The extent of the motorcyclist's injuries are not known as of 5:25 p.m. Tuesday. The driver was not injured, Torre said.
