Nesconset Resident To Be Featured On New Season Of Survivor
The 38-year-old is one of two Long Islanders to compete on the 36th season of the CBS show. Watch his introduction video below.

NESCONSET, NY - A Nesconset man is one of two Long Islanders to compete in the 36th season of CBS's Survivor, which airs this month.
Domenick Abbate, a 38-year-old construction supervisor will be a part of the Naviti tribe.
The other Long Island-native Jacob Derwin, a 22-year-old teacher from Merrick will be competing against him as part of the Malolo Tribe.

Abbate graduated from Smithtown High School in 1996 and went on to study at SUNY Old Westbury and Marist College, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Finance.
He married in 2004 and is a father to three young children.

According to his Survivor bio, Abbate is a big-time fan of the show and his hobbies include CrossFit workouts and playing poker.
He is also a huge fan of Howard Stern, and TV shows such as The Office and The West Wing.
The new season, which features 20 new castaways, begins on Wednesday, Feb. 28.
The theme of this season is "Ghost Island," and will center on the bad choices of past players. Players may be sent to a separate "haunted" island filled with past relics from the other 35 seasons of the show.

All the contestants will be competing for the top prize of $1 million.
