Long Island Weather: The Latest Snow Estimates, When It Will End
Snow covered and icy roads, along with poor visibility, are causing dangerous conditions on the roads.

LONG ISLAND, NY — With several inches of snow on the ground already on Long Island, another half-foot or more is expected to accumulate overnight, the National Weather Service says.
A band of heavy snow will continue to fall over the island through 10:30 p.m. Wednesday. Snowfall rates will reach up to 1 to 2 inches per hour. Winds will be "very gusty" as well, especially along the coast where gusts will reach near 40 mph at times, the weather service says.
Travel is not recommended. Snow covered and icy roads, along with poor visibility, are causing dangerous conditions on the roads.

As of 10:06 p.m., PSEG Long Island says 359 of its customers have lost power, but that number may rise with gusty winds expected to continue into early Thursday. PSEG recommends keep your devices charged and texting OUT to PSEGLI (773454) if you lose power. See the PSEG outage map.
"Today's nor'easter has caused power outages across the island," PSEG says. "Crews are working to restore power as quickly as possible even as storm conditions continue. Once we have assessed the storm damage, we will be able to provide an accurate estimated time of restoration (ETR)."
