Thunderstorms, some severe and packing strong winds and hail, hit Long Island Tuesday evening. PSEG Long Island was working to restore power to more than 3,000 homes, but there were no immediate reports of any property damage on the island. That wasn’t the case in south New Jersey, where a tornado flipped a car over in a mall parking lot.
