Polymers Merona Mobilizes To Aid St. James Group Residence
RICKY, BARBARA PROFIT ARE ROLE MODEL EXAMPLES FOR COMMUNITY SUPPORT
"It's a model example of the way in which many business owners have come forward to recognize essential workers during COVID," describes Matt Zebatto, the Assistant Executive Director for Life's WORC. "With our organization, the Twixt Hills Road, St. James group residence is being staffed by caregivers who are logging a lot of extra time---an assurance to safeguard against COVID. It is wonderful that the owners and staff of Polymers Merona, Inc., (347 Lake Avenue, St. James) are doing something special for the frontline caregivers through their initiative."
Ricky Profit, the President and Barbara Profit, the CFO of Polymers Merona, Inc. (a worldwide distributor of polymer resins) have spearheaded an effort in providing twenty giftbags for the caregivers. And, Polymers Merona enlisted St. James Deli, BLT Cafe, and St. James Pizza & Pasta to provide food treats and meals for both the caregivers and residents this week.
"As the Twixt Hills Road residence has been on a lockdown, like all of the Life's WORC 43 group residences throughout Manhattan, Queens, Nassau, and Suffolk, this is timely, meaningful generosity coordinated by Mr. and Mrs. Profit," Matt Zebatto explains.
Life's WORC/The Family Center For Autism (www.lifesworc.org; www.thefamilycenterforautism.org) is a non-profit organization launched fifty years ago by newspaper publisher Victoria Schneps with help from broadcast journalist icon Geraldo Rivera. Based in Garden City, it provides a variety of services to some 2200 people with developmental disabilities and autism. It has been ranked by Newsday and Crain's as "one of the best workplaces in NY".
