Smithtown 2021-22 School Budget Passes
All three incumbents running for school board positions were ousted by their respective challengers.

SMITHTOWN, NY — Residents within the boundaries of the Smithtown Central School District on Tuesday voted to pass the 2021-22 school budget by a margin of 5,125 votes to 3,208.
The district's budget is $262,319,665, up 2.79 percent from last year's. The tax levy is $204,979,539, up 1.75 percent.
For the school board, none of three incumbents held their seats.

Challenger Stacy Murphy defeated incumbent Mandi Kowalik 4,610 votes to 3,805; challenger John Savoretti beat incumbent Charles Rollins for a two-year term by 4,604 votes to 3,816 to replace Frank James; and challenger Karen Wontrobski-Ricciardi staved off incumbent Jeremy Thode by 4,461 votes to 3,951.
