Smithtown 2021-22 School Budget Preview

Here's what Smithtown residents should know before heading to the polls on May 18.

SMITHTOWN, NY — Residents are due to head to the polls on May 18 to vote on the Smithtown Central School District 2021-22 budget.

The vote is scheduled from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Smithtown has four polling locations dependent on where a resident lives. Check out the Smithtown budget brochure for more information on polling locations.

The Smithtown School District's proposed spending plan for the 2021-22 school year is $262,319,665. That's a 2.79 percent increase — or $7,116,389 — from the current budget.

To fund the increase, the district proposes a tax levy of $204,979,539, up 1.75 percent from the current year's.
