Smithtown Police Blotter: Burglar Steals Jewelry From Home

The burglar got in through an unlocked back door, police say.

The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

  • June 21: Grand larceny (fourth-degree) and petty larceny were reported on Alex Court in Lake Grove at 2:15 a.m. Someone stole cash from a 2018 Ford parked in the driveway of a home, police said. Someone stole medication from a 2017 Kia Sportage parked in the driveway of a home, police said.
  • June 20: Burglary (second-degree) was reported on Clover Drive in Smithtown from June 17 at 6 p.m. Jewelry was stolen from a house after a burglar entered through an unlocked back door, police said.
