Smithtown Police Blotter: Car Stolen After Home Burglarized

ALSO: Someone claiming to be a bail bondsman tricked someone into sending them money, police say.

The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

  • June 4: Grand larceny (fourth-degree) was reported on Apple Lane in Smithtown at 1 a.m. Someone stole all four tires and rims off a 2021 Toyota Camry parked in a driveway, police said. The vehicle was left on cement blocks, police said.
  • June 3: Burglary (second-degree) was reported on Darra Court in Nesconset from June 2 at 10 p.m. Someone entered a home on Darra Court between 10 p.m. June 2 and 7 a.m. June 3, police said. The person stole the keys to a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee and drove away in the vehicle, which was parked in the driveway, police said.
  • June 2: Grand larceny (third-degree) was reported on Smith Haven Plaza in Lake Grove from June 1 at 3:20 p.m. Two men stole cosmetics from Ulta and fled, police said.
  • May 29: Grand larceny (third-degree) was reported on Symphony Drive in Lake Grove from May 28 at 1 p.m. Someone received a call from a person claiming to be a bail bondsman and that the person needed to pay bail for a family member, police said. The victim sent cash in an envelope to the provided address, police said.
