Smithtown Police Blotter: Tires & Rims Stolen From 2 Cars

The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

• March 24: Grand larceny (third-degree) was reported on Nesconset Highway in Nesconset from March 23 at 9 p.m. The tires and rims were stolen from two vehicles — a 2017 Honda and 2019 Cadillac — at King O’Rourke, police said.
• March 23: Identity theft (second-degree) was reported on Doyle Court in Lake Grove from Feb. 28 at 3 p.m. Someone signed up for unemployment benefits in someone else's name, police said.
• March 23: Identity theft (second-degree) was reported on Milleridge Lane in Smithtown from March 16 at noon. A phone scammer called a man and told him he needed to send Best Buy gift cards to pay for his Amazon Prime membership, police said. The gift cards were for $1,000 total, police said.
