Smithtown Police Blotter: Wallet Nabbed From Unlocked Car

ALSO: A fraudulent wire transfer and withdrawal were made from two separate bank accounts, police say.

The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

  • Feb. 19: Identity theft (first-degree) was reported on Roy Drive in Nesconset from Jan. 25 at 6 p.m. Someone made fraudulent withdrawals from someone else's bank account, police said.
  • Feb. 16: Identity theft (first-degree) was reported on Oakside Road in Smithtown from Feb. 10 at noon. Someone made fraudulent wire transfers from someone else's bank account, police said.
  • Feb. 16: Grand larceny (fourth-degree) was reported on Browns Road In Nesconset at 6:45 p.m. A wallet was stolen from an unlocked 2020 Honda, police said.
