Smithtown Police Blotter: Windows Broken At Steakhouse On 2 Dates

Chop Shop Bar and Grill had its windows broken twice in two days, police say.

The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

  • March 4: Criminal mischief (third-degree) was reported on East Main Street in Smithtown at 3:20 p.m. Two windows were broken at Chop Shop Bar and Grill, police said.
  • March 3: Identity theft (second-degree) was reported on Harcourt Avenue in Smithtown from Feb. 5 at 12:10 p.m. Someone filed for unemployment under a Smithtown resident's name, police said.
  • March 3: Grand larceny (fourth-degree) was reported on Nora Court in St. James from March 2 at 2 p.m. A wallet containing credit cards was swiped from an unlocked 2016 Porsche, police said.
  • March 3: Criminal mischief (third-degree) was reported on East Main Street in Smithtown at 7:30 p.m. Two windows were broken at Chop Shop Bar and Grill, police said.
