Smithtown Police Blotter: Woman Bites Vape Store Employee

ALSO: A man was beaten up while at his friend's house for a party, police say.

The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

  • April 10: Assault was reported on Shell Road in Smithtown at midnight. A man was at his friend's house for a party when a man who was not invited showed up with a group of friends, who headlocked the man and kicked him, police said. The man suffered a fractured orbital bone, black eye, and cuts and bruises to his face, police said.
  • April 9: Grand larceny (third-degree) was reported on Laurel Drive in Smithtown from April 7 at noon. A man thought he was paying for a rebate for anti-virus software but it was a scam, police said. He deposited money and was told he would get gift cards back, police said.
  • April 8: Grand larceny (third-degree) was reported on Rose Street in Smithtown from April 7 at 2:22 p.m. Someone stole a landscaping trailer containing landscaping tools and equipment from a driveway, police said.
  • April 5: Grand larceny (fourth-degree) was reported on Applewood Road in St. James from April 4 at 3 p.m. Someone stole multiple credit cards from an unlocked 2020 Volkswagen SUV parked outside a home, police said.
  • April 5: Robbery (second-degree) was reported on Terry Road in Smithtown at 2:36 p.m. A woman entered Vape Smoke, at 165 Terry Road, and stole merchandise from the store, police said. An employee of the store, who knows the woman, tried to stop her, and she bit him, police said.
