Smithtown Students Craft Patriotic Art For Memorial Day

SMITHTOWN, NY — Students at Tackan Elementary School expressed their patriotism through art, according to the Smithtown Central School District.

Claudia Chandler’s art classes are honoring Memorial Day through arts and crafts. They discussed the meaning of Memorial Day and what the American flag means to them. The kids created a variety of red, white and blue designs including stars, flags, and even flip flops in patriotic colors.
