Smithtown Woman Seriously Injured In Bike Vs. Car Crash: Police
The 42-year-old bicyclist was brought to a nearby hospital after a car collided with her, police say.
LAKE RONKONKOMA, NY — A 42-year-old Smithtown woman riding a bicycle was seriously injured after a car crashed into her Thursday night in Lake Ronkonkoma, the Suffolk County Police Department said.
A 22-year-old Brentwood woman was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Suburban south on Lakeshore Drive when she collided with the bicyclist, who was heading north near the intersection of Norwood Lane around 11:30 p.m., police said.
The bicyclist was brought to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The Chevrolet driver was not injured.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Detectives ask anyone with information on the crash to call the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.
