Officer Michael Fitterer helps deliver baby early Monday morning.

A Suffolk County Police Second Precinct patrol officer helped deliver a baby in Commack early Monday morning.
Officer Michael Fitterer was dispatched at 2:24 a.m. to 22 Grace Park Drive, in response to a 911 call reporting a 30-year-old woman in active labor, police said.
A few minutes after arriving at the scene, Fitterer assisted the mother in delivering a healthy baby girl, police said.

Both mother and daughter were transported via ambulance to St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center in Smithtown, police said.
