Sweetwaters Coffee & Tea Sets Grand Opening Date In Smithtown

SMITHTOWN, NY — Sweetwaters Coffee & Tea is making its Long Island debut. A soft opening and charity event is set for this Saturday at 200 W. Main St., Smithtown.

The 1,400+ square-foot café with a drive-thru will offer a globally-inspired menu featuring coffees, teas, pastries and more, the company announced Tuesday.

"We are excited to bring Sweetwaters to our local community," Jeffery Wong, owner and director of operations, said via press release. "The cafe will offer indoor and outdoor seating and a drive-thru for customer convenience. Located on West Main Street, Sweetwaters is a perfect fit for Long Island."

A charity event benefiting the New York Cancer Foundation will run from 12 to 4 p.m. on Nov. 2. There will be samples, music and a chance to win a $100 Sweetwaters gift card. In addition to inspiring children with its great grades program, Sweetwaters often partners with local non-profits.

The grand opening is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 9. Sweetwaters will celebrate with daily discounts running all week and free items each day. Customers can visit the business' Facebook or Instagram pages for more details.

The Smithtown location is the first of multiple locations the owners plan to bring to Long Island.

The menu features four signature coffees: Dragon Eye, French Vietnamese Au Lait, Creme Caramel and Cocoa Cappuccino. There are also the traditional coffees as well. Two dozen types of signature, premium or select teas are available. Frozen beverages and shakes, as well as other options, round out the drink menu.

If you're hungry, pastries such as muffins, scones, croissants and fruit bars are served. There are even light meal options, such as sandwiches, salads and quiche, or desserts like chocolate cake, cheesecake, tiramisu, chocolate and caramel marshmallows.

Sweetwaters Coffee & Tea is a national franchise founded in Ann Arbor, MI, in 1993 by husband-and-wife duo Wei and Lisa Bee. Inspired by the Bee’s love of food and drink and driven by their creativity, Sweetwaters was created as a coffeehouse that offers classic café fare alongside globally-influenced beverages, with a real ingredient focus, in a classic and friendly environment.
