Undefeated Smithtown West Girls Soccer Climbs National Rankings

SMITHTOWN, NY — The Smithtown High School West girls soccer team continues to impress, which means it's continuing to ascend the national rankings.

The team is now ranked No. 17 in the United Soccer Coaches poll after it rattled off two straight wins since October began, moving up from No. 24. Smithtown West trounced Sachem East 4-1 before blanking Northport 5-0.

The only thing keeping Smithtown West from a higher ranking is a 0-0 tie with Commack on Sept. 17, as the team was ranked No. 11 nationally before the draw.

Syosset and St. Anthony's are ranked in the top-25, as well.
