What's Open, Closed Easter Weekend 2019 In Smithtown

SMITHTOWN, NY - In 2019, Good Friday and Passover fall on the same day, April 19, while Easter is on April 21. Local stores will generally be open normal hours in Smithtown, but services like libraries might be disrupted by the holiday.

Transit

The Long Island Rail Road will provide additional eastbound service from Penn Station on Friday afternoon, April 19, for customers leaving work early in observance of Passover and Good Friday.

Libraries
The Smithtown Library will be closed Sunday.
Mail, package delivery
Good Friday is not observed as a holiday, so most post offices will be open and mail will be delivered as normal. FedEx will operate on a modified service on FedEx Express and Freight, but normal service on all others. UPS doesn't observe Good Friday and will operate as normal.
Banks
According to Newsweek, major banks across the country — Bank of America, Chase Bank and Wells Fargo — will be open normal hours on Friday. It's best to check your local bank ahead of time to ensure it's open.
