Resident of The Bristal at Jericho Says Thank You With a Heart from the Heart

Soon to be 90-year-old Lillian Fendt, a resident of The Bristal Assisted Living at Jericho, wanted to do something special for The Bristal staff – so she knitted red and dusty-rose colored hearts. With the help of art instructor, Josephine Castelli, they turned the knit hearts into pins for The Bristal staff to wear during February in honor of American Heart Month. Lillian wanted the staff to know how much they are loved by the residents and appreciate all the staff do each and every day.

Lillian who previously resided in Glen Head, moved to The Bristal in October of 2019. She has been knitting since she was a young girl. Her mother insisted that she and her sisters all had a skill that was a hobby and purposeful. Lillian makes Afghans for all of her grandchildren when they are first born. She also enjoys making slipper socks because “no one likes cold feet!”
