Car Fire Spreads To Detached Garage In Syosset
A car fire in Syosset quickly spread to the eaves of a detached garage yesterday as firefighters from four companies responded.
SYOSSET — A car that caught fire up against a detached garage turned into a four-alarm call yesterday in Syosset.
The car, which appeared to be an SUV with a snow plow attached to it, was parked in the driveway of a detached three-car garage at 186 Berry Hill Rd. when it caught fire shortly before 1 p.m. drawing first responders from the Syosset Fire Department. The fire quickly spread to the eaves of the two-story garage, according to a witness.
Fire crews were able to bring the fire under control using foam extinguisher.

No injuries were reported, according to Nassau County police. The cause of the fire has not been determined and the investigation is continuing, police said.
Responding agencies included the Jericho and Hicksville fire departments, as well as the Atlantic Steamer Fire Company from Oyster Bay.
