Crash Sends SUV Through Fence Of Syosset Home; 1 Hospitalized
A two-vehicle crash sent an SUV though the fence of a Syosset home's backyard. One person was hospitalized, officials say.

SYOSSET, NY — One person was hospitalized Sunday following a two-vehicle crash that sent an SUV through the fence of a Syosset home's backyard.
The Syosset Volunteer Fire Department and Nassau County police responded to the crash at 3:15 p.m. at South Oyster Bay Road and Plaza Gate. The collision occurred when the driver of a northbound BMW SUV hit the driver of a Kia making a left turn, according to authorities. The crash sent the Kia around 25 yards and the BMW off the roadway and through a fence.
The driver of the Kia was trapped in her car following the crash. Crews were able to then pry the door open and remove her. She was transported to Nassau University Medical Center with serious injuries. The other driver refused medical attention at the crash.
