Garbage Truck Catches Fire In Brookville; Traffic Slowed

BROOKVILLE, NY — A garbage truck caught fire in Brookville, causing traffic headaches Tuesday afternoon.

Around noon Tuesday, the Jericho Volunteer Fire Department responded to a garbage truck ablaze on the northbound lanes of state Route 107, near Ormond Park Road. Engine 942 stretched a line and extinguished the flames.

Traffic was delayed in both directions while crews worked the scene.
