HazMat Team To Leaky Propane Tank At Syosset Home
Firefighters and a hazardous materials team were called to a Syosset home for a leaky propane tank. They had to perform a burn off.

SYOSSET, NY — A hazardous materials team was called to a Syosset home late Sunday for a leaky propane take that appeared to have been scorched.
Around 11 p.m. Sunday, the Syosset Volunteer Fire Department found a leaky propane tank at a Melanie Lane home. The tank appeared to have been on fire at one point and crews couldn't stop the leak.
Syosset Engine 584 stretched a protective hose line and a hazardous materials team with the Hicksville Volunteer Fire Department was called, their along with the Nassau County Fire Marshal's Office. HazMat technicians evaluated the leak and burned off what was left in the tank for about 20 minutes.

No one was hurt and the empty tank was turned over to the fire marshal's office.
