Man Caught Performing Lewd Act In Home Depot Parking Lot: PD

Stolen property from Home Depot was also in his possession, police say.

An East Northport man found performing a lewd act in his vehicle was later accused of burglary on Monday afternoon, Nassau Police say.

Authorities approached a suspicious vehicle in front of Home Depot, located at 86 Jericho Turnpike in Westbury, to find 59-year-old Anthony Tomeo performing a lewd act at 3:25 p.m., police say.

Tomeo then fled in his vehicle westbound on Jericho Turnpike before authorities pulled him over and placed him under arrest without incident, police say.

An investigation revealed Tomeo was found to be in possession of stolen property from Home Depot, police say. Police say they also recovered an I.D. that had been stolen from an automobile in East Northport on Dec. 15, 2018.

Tomeo was charged with third-degree burglary, petty larceny, public lewdness, criminal possession of stolen property as well as multiple vehicle and traffic law violations. He will be arraigned on Tuesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
