Nassau County Officials Present “Ready For Re-Opening" Webinar

(PLAINVIEW, N.Y.) - With Phase 2 of reopening the Long Island region’s economy on the horizon, more than 100 viewers signed up to virtually attend “Ready for Reopening: Phases 2, 3, and 4,” a Zoom webinar hosted by Nassau County Legislator Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) and local chambers of commerce on Wednesday, June 3.

During the webinar, which Legislator Drucker co-hosted with the Syosset-Woodbury and Plainview-Old Bethpage Chambers of Commerce, speakers addressed topics including: an employer’s responsibilities while re-opening and Nassau County’s expectations of business owners; how business owners can prepare for potential future shutdowns; how workers compensation applies to various scenarios involving illness; and what impact reopening will have on loan forgiveness opportunities and participants in the federal Paycheck Protection Program (PPP).
The morning’s featured speakers included: Nassau County Executive Laura Curran; Gregory May, Commissioner of Nassau County’s Department of Consumer Affairs; Gregory S. Lisi, Esq., Partner, Forchelli, Deegan, Terrana LLP and President-Elect of the Nassau County Bar Association; and Plainview resident Erin K. McCabe, Esq., of Fusco, Brandenstein, & Rada P.C. and Vice-President of the New York Injured Workers Bar Association.

In addition, Dr. Uzma Syed, an infectious disease expert and Syosset resident, discussed COVID-19 related Pediatric Inflammatory Disease and warning signs of the illness.
