Obituary: Michael N. Calvano, formerly of Syosset, Dies at 83

Obituary: Michael N. Calvano, formerly of Syosset, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 29. He was 83.

He was born to Francesco and Lucy Calvano in New York City on July 27, 1933.

Calvano retired from his position as Chief of Photographic Services at the New York Public Library after nearly 40 years of service, and in his retirement he was able to incorporate his gardening hobby into work at a major horticultural center on Long Island.

After living on Long Island for more than thirty years, he moved to Annapolis in 1996.

He was predeceased by his daughter Michele Calvano-Nunez, his parents and his sister Florence Pascone.

Calvano is survived by his wife Margaret, his sister Theresa (Selwyn) Jattan, his nephew Michael Jattan and nieces Francesca and Selena Jattan.

In addition, his is survived by his nephew and niece Christopher and Margo Flohr and their children Samantha and Wayne.

Internment will take place at the Pinelawn Memorial Park in Farmingdale.
