Obituary:​ Syosset Native Alice Mary Del Bosco Dies at 92

Died: June 11, 2017

Visitation: Thursday, June 15 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Beney Funeral Home on 79 Berry Hill Road in Syosset.

Service: Friday, June 16 starting at 11 a.m. at the St. John's Memorial Cemetery in Cold Spring Harbor.

Obituary: Alice Mary Del Bosco, a Syosset native, passed away on Sunday, June 11. She was 92.

Alice was born in Syosset on July 17, 1924 to the late Eliza and Ralph Green .

She was a Huntington resident, worked as a former teacher and librarian of South Down Elementary School.

She was a lifelong devoted nature lover and conservationist.

She was a member of the former local chapter President of Huntington Audubon Society, long standing Chair of the NY State Audubon Education Committee, devoted volunteer and supporter of TR Sanctuary, Nature Conservancy, Sierra Club, Public Radio, The Girl Scouts, as well as many other nature organizations.

Alice was predeceased in life by her brothers Ralph and George Green.

She is survived by her 6 children, her 13 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
