'Run for The Blue' Raises Funds for Fallen Officers' Families
Exotic and classic car procession from Syosset to Queens helps families of fallen NYPD officers Liu and Ramos.
Organizers behind “Run for The Blue” a motorcade of classic and exotic cars that headed from Nassau to Queens on Sunday, say they raised an estimated $15,000 for the families of two NYPD officers recently killed in the line of duty.
LI Exotics Club, which arranged the event, invited the public to take part in the event, with any vehicle, by making a $25 donation to help the families of NYPD officer Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos.
Featuring vehicles displaying a 15-inch “Blue Respect Ribbon” decal, the procession ran from Syosset to Cunningham Park in Queens, where there was a donation presentation ceremony.
