The National Weather Service has issued the following special weather statement for Long Island:

...A LINE OF GUSTY SHOWERS WILL AFFECT QUEENS AND KINGS COUNTIES IN
NEW YORK CITY...SOUTHEAST CONNECTICUT...AND LONG ISLAND...

At 731 PM EDT, radar indicated showers were located along a line extending from near Colchester to near Stony Brook to near Little Neck to near Keansburg. Movement was east at 55 mph.

Centereach and Syosset around 740 PM EDT.
Plainview and Massapequa around 745 PM EDT.
Jewett City and Norwich around 750 PM EDT.
Shirley and Deer Park around 755 PM EDT.
Islip and Manorville around 800 PM EDT.
Riverhead and Westhampton around 805 PM EDT.
Shinnecock Hills around 815 PM EDT.

Thursday Night- A slight chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 62. Southwest wind 8 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Friday- Mostly cloudy, with a high near 75. Southwest wind 9 to 16 mph.

Friday Night- A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 11pm, then a slight chance of showers between 11pm and 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 56. Breezy, with a southwest wind 14 to 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Saturday- Partly sunny, with a high near 70. Northwest wind around 9 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon.

Saturday Night- A 40 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 53. Southwest wind 5 to 8 mph becoming calm after midnight.

Sunday- A 50 percent chance of rain. Cloudy, with a high near 64.

Sunday Night- A 30 percent chance of rain before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 50.
