Syosset Firefighter Honored For Over 5 Decades Of Service

He joined the Syosset fire department in 1968.

SYOSSET, NY — A Syosset firefighter who has been a member for over five decades was honored for his service.

Officers and members of the Syosset Volunteer Fire Department Hook & Ladder Company No. 1 honored firefighter Paul Yura for his 52 years of service to the department and community.

A lifelong resident of Syosset, Yura joined the fire department in 1968. After 52 years, he remains an active member of the Hook & Ladder Company and the Fire Police unit.
