Syosset High School's performance of Disney's "The Little Mermaid" will be streamed in a one-night only event Thursday.

SYOSSET, NY — Syosset High School's performance of Disney's "The Little Mermaid" will be streamed in a one-night only event Thursday.
Restrictions related to the coronavirus pandemic led to the cancellation of the production after students and staff had worked on the performance for months. On what would have been the opening night, the cast, crew and orchestra were able to perform for a small invited audience of family members only.
The performance was recorded and will now be available for any community member to stream at 7 p.m. Thursday, announced Syosset High School's Association of Creative Thespians. ACT is Syosset High School's co-curricular theatre group that involves students interested in acting, stage design, construction and the theatre arts. The group annually produces three main stage shows, a one-act play competition, two showcases and various student-directed works. In addition, the group participates in various festivals and competitions on Long Island and in New York State. ACT presents students with opportunities to direct, stage-manage and design elements of the various theatrical productions.
