Syosset Student Is Finalist In National Chemistry Contest

SYOSSET, NY — Syosset student Alex Wang has been named as one the 20 top-scoring students of the 2021 U.S. National Chemistry Olympiads that were held virtually in April.

Wang, a sophmore at Syosset High School, was one of more than 1,600 students who took the two-part National Chemistry Olympiad Exam. As a finalist, he is invited to take part in a two-week Virtual Study Camp where he will receive intensive coaching and academic training in all branches of chemistry.

From the 20 finalists, four students will be selected to represent the United States at the International Chemistry Olympiad in July.

The U.S. National Chemistry Olympiad program is sponsored by the American Chemical Society, one of the world’s largest scientific organizations with over 155,000 members in 150 countries.
