'Trump The Turkey' To Be Pardoned By Long Island Inn
The turkey will live out the remainder of his days near the White House.

JERICHO, NY — As president of the United States, it's Donald Trump's job to decide who gets pardoned or has their prison sentences shortened. But this year, it's Trump who will be spared — and it has nothing to do with any impeachment inquiry.
The Milleridge Inn in Jericho will hold a pardoning ceremony Wednesday afternoon on Long Island for "Trump The Turkey." The well-fed, red-orange-headed turkey was born the same day as the nation's 45th president, so the inn's owners decided to have some fun with the name.
The animal will be spared this Thanksgiving holiday and live out his remaining life on a turkey farm in Virginia about 15 miles from the White House.

"Trump will be spared from getting his head chopped off and from any impeachment process, as he is loved by everyone," inn owner Butch Yamali said in announcing the pardon.
Yamali told Patch on Monday that about 2,000 of his turkeys will be eaten this holiday season. His staff has fallen in love with "Trump," though, so it decided to spare him.

"With everybody talking about impeachment, we figured we'll save this bird," he said. "You may not love our president ... you may love him, you may hate him. But this bird is loved by everyone, and we want the bird to be around a long time."
The inn, built in 1692, has been pardoning turkeys during the Thanksgiving holiday for the last 10 years, most recently "Tommy" and "Teddy." While this is the first spared bird named after a president, the pardoning is not meant to be political.
"Not at all," he said. "It's purely just a community event that we decided to do."
"He's one lucky bird," Yamali said.
