Warming Centers in Nassau County to Open This Week

Residents can visit the centers to escape the cold this week.

It may not be officially winter yet, but the cold weather will be coming to Long Island this week.

The coldest temperatures and lowest wind chills of the 2016-17 winter season are expected for this Thursday and Friday.

In preparation for the cold weather, Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano – in partnership with the Town of Oyster Bay, Village of Rockville Centre and Salvation Army - recently announced that several warming centers across Nassau County will be open to residents.
