Youth Innovation Club finish World MakerFaire with award
At NY World MakerFaire, Youth Innovation Club showcase their smart home demo kits and robot pool game, win Editor's Choice Award.
New York World MakerFaire is one of the biggest maker event in the world, every year, around September, it host more than 400 maker group and company to demonstrate more than 700 projects and products, at the same time, this two days event, attract more than quarter million of visitors, generate huge cloud, this year, it is 9th annual New York World MakerFaire, and we (Youth Innovation Club) make the commitment to showcase our projects over there.

12 students, build two teams, create more two set of projects, include smart home demo kit and robot pool game, over 8 weeks of time, we host 4 meetings (for each team), and finally, it comes down to 2 days of intensive demonstration. Our young maker include, Jason Luo, Kevin Wang, Brandon Cao, Tiger Peng, Jason Mei and Joseph Tang at smart home demo kit team, Connor Chang, Richard Xu, Dian, Julia, Kevin and Vincent Lin at robot pool game team. Our club head coach is David Peng, assistant coach are Harry Luo, Yezi, and Tiger Peng.
The smart home demo kit can demonstrate the laser security system, smart home lighting system, and temperature controlled attic fan, plus a security live camera. And our robot pool game, include mBot based line follower, and duet fighting bot, plus one Mindstorm EV3 based auto water feeder.

Over this two days period of time, our projects attract hundreds of guests, our team members took turn to explain and demonstrate the projects, with our team members tireless efforts and creative design, we are recognized by MakerFaire editor, and win "MakerFaire Editor's Choice Award".

We are so proud of them, and the great achievement they made in such a short time, the event is over, and the dream is continue, we are looking forward to see more kids get involved into next year's event, together, we can make the kids love STEM.
