An afternoon fire broke out a home on Shore Rd. in Stony Brook on Thursday.

According to the homeowner,no one was hurt in the fire, which was reported at about 1:30, and prompted a response from several departments including Stony Brook, Setauket and St. James. The fire was reportedly under control at about 2 p.m.
