Suffolk Couple Who Met In Astronomy Class Engaged At Planetarium
Congratulations to Chris Bursztyn and Alexa Jarrard of Centereach!

CENTEREACH, NY — They might have had a rocky start, but they ended up a match made in the heavens.
Chris Bursztyn and Alexa Jarrard of Centereach met at Suffolk County Community College during an astronomy class group project, and just got engaged last Friday at the college’s planetarium on the Ammerman Campus in Selden, according to a news release.
“Alexa always liking astronomy, and finds the stars to be an amazing sight,” said Bursztyn, adding that he and his wife-to-be got off to a rocky start when they were put in a group together and he “volunteered her to present their group project.”

But, the stars eventually aligned for the two lovebirds, who both graduated from the college in 2015.
They continued their education and had one class together each semester until they both graduated from Stony Brook University. Bursztyn said the pair became “close friends and started dating in 2017." And, the rest, school officials say, "is written in the stars."
